Tailgaters,
Thank you! I think we just about have this covered. Mike Hundl and Jorge DeLaRosa have volunteered to bring grills and flip steaks so that is a big help. Tim Heinrich and the Houston Sunrise Kiwanis (I know I have that order wrong) have volunteered to supply the water bottles and ice. Several of you have volunteered (or been volunteered) to bake potatoes – but we could use a few more tater bakers. Let me sort through the potato bakers and send out more info next week on who we need to cook spuds – we will need a total of about 120 servings. If anyone has a connection for a good price on the steaks that would be great. I think we will also plan to cook and serve around 200 hot dogs and chili to anyone who walks up – guys is that too many? I don’t think so based on the lines we have had on previous trips to DeGeorge.
Also – we will be joined by about 10 students from the DeBakey High School National Honor Society – love that.
Please be on site next week Saturday January 23rd around 10:00 am in your favorite team gear as always. DeGeorge at Union Station is located at 1418 Preston Street Houston, TX 77002. This is at the corner of Preston and LaBranch just west of Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston.
So far Weather Underground is predicting good weather for next week Saturday but that is pretty far off in the weather world. Hopefully they are right.
I will be back in touch next week telling you to NOT park in the adjacent surface parking lot behind DeGeorge unless you pay – we learned this the hard way on our first trip to DeGeorge. Something about no good deed going unpunished but it worked out.
More to follow.
